Monza, 26 June 2023 – The third round of the BMW M2 CS Racing Cup Italy came to an end with two exhilarating races packed with dramatic twists and Jody Vullo and Marco Zanasi, after battling it out neck and neck, brought home one win each. So close to a double, the driver from Modena earned a photo-finish second place in Race 1 followed by a redeeming place on the top of the podium in the second round. Gigi Ferrara came in second in both of his races, while Giacon came in third twice.
Race 1: dramatic changes
A hard-fought race marked by dramatic changes on the track. After an excellent start from pole position and a flawless race, a technical problem with the ABS forced Marco Zanasi (Pinetti Motorsport by Autoclub) into the sand of the banked turn on the very last lap. After fighting it out with Gigi Ferrara (V-Action by Nanni Nember) to the end, it was eventually Jody Vullo (Pro. Motorsport by BYmyCAR Milano) that crossed the finish line first.
Zanasi redeems himself in Race 2
The action was exhilarating in Race 2 too: Marco Zanasi’s redemption was not long in coming, as he ended the heat with an impressive win. The driver for Pinetti Motorsport by Autoclub held the lead on track until the end, despite a very aggressive Gigi Ferrara hard on his heels, who crossed the finish line just three tenths of a second behind. Steven Giacon climbed to the third step of the podium for a second time, while Jody Vullo had to settle for fourth place.
